New Quick Release Brackets by Interface Catheter Solutions Enhances Balloon Forming Production

Laguna Niguel, CA, October 30, 2008 – Interface Catheter Solutions announces the introduction of Quick Release Water Jacket Brackets for their 2210 series Balloon Forming Machines. The Quick Release Brackets are designed to simplify the water jacket installation and exchange process which will substantially reduce production set-up time and improve manufacturing throughput.

The Interface 2210 series BFM’s are computer-controlled systems that produce the most extensive range of medical balloons needed to meet today’s ever-increasing requirements. Interface is known for manufacturing balloon forming equipment that deliver consistent performance, reduced cycle times and increased yields, along with real-time balloon forming profiling. In addition to producing balloons in a wide range of diameters and lengths (0.5 – 50mm x 0.5 – 250mm) the 2210 series is capable of producing many unique shapes (cylindrical, spherical, oval, conical, stepped, tapered, and more).

The new Quick Release Brackets makes exchanging water jackets to accommodate different balloon sizes simple and easy, reducing machine set-up time and driving down costs. Interface offers thirty-three standard interchangeable water jackets each optimized for a family of lengths and diameters which allows the 2210 to efficiently manufacture a wide range of balloon sizes.

The Quick Release Brackets will be introduced as a separate upgrade kit to existing machines (limited to model numbers 2210H and 2210HX). The Quick Release Brackets provide an additional feature with a mechanical index that restricts water jackets to the proper 110V or 220V voltage machine.

Interface Catheter Solutions is the only vertically integrated provider of outsourced solutions for balloon catheter manufacturing. Interface has been solely focused on the balloon catheter market since 1995 and continually sets industry standards through process and equipment advancements in balloon catheter manufacturing.

Interface has created more than 2,000 balloon designs, and offers balloon design and development, extruded balloon tubing, balloon contract manufacturing, plus a comprehensive line of balloon catheter production and testing equipment.
