Confluent Medical Expands Their Costa Rica Business Structure to Accommodate Exceptional Growth
As Confluent continues to grow their Costa Rica operations, evolving their organizational structure is needed to ensure support for business objectives, operations excellence, and to build the capabilities required for 2027 and beyond.
As part of this evolution, Confluent is establishing a structure designed to provide greater business focus, stronger functional capabilities, and increased accountability for Costa Rica Operations.
Costa Rica Operations will be organized into three Business Units:
- Nitinol Components
- Catheters & Polymers
- Advanced Devices
This structure will provide greater focus within each business while creating stronger alignment around their customers, operational priorities, and growth objectives
In parallel, Confluent will be strengthening several key capabilities that will support each Business Unit and continue the evolution of their Costa Rica operations:
- Operational Excellence- Confluent’s Costa Rica facilities have launched an Operational Excellence initiative in partnership with Opex Academy. This program is focused on building a culture of continuous improvement through daily management, problem-solving, leadership development, and strategy deployment guided by the Shingo Model.
- Engineering- A key priority for 2027 will be strengthening and standardizing engineering processes and practices across the Business Units. Dedicated leadership will also continue driving Optimization Engineering capabilities focused on automation, process improvement, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- New Product Introduction- Dedicated leadership will lead New Product Introduction and PMO activities, with responsibility for the transition of new manufacturing processes, Transfer Engineering leadership, program management, and OEM customer engagement for new programs.
These changes reflect both the continued growth of Confluent’s Costa Rica organization and the increasing importance of this facility to Confluent’s overall business. By combining strong Business Unit ownership with enhanced functional capabilities, this structure positions Confluent to scale effectively, strengthen Operational Excellence, and continue delivering high quality to customers.
