Confluent Medical Technologies, a leading contract manufacturer of finished medical devices, is expanding its Orange County, California R&D, Prototyping, and Rapid Development operations to accommodate increased customer demand for specialized balloon catheters and to support customer design and development services, through key ongoing investments in personnel, infrastructure, and equipment.
Our enhanced Rapid Prototyping services now offer quick turn extrusions and balloon catheters through investments being made in dedicated design, development, and additional prototyping engineers, technicians, and equipment. Confluent is doubling its cylindrical balloon forming capacity, as well as adding dedicated prototype clamshell balloon forming for complex balloon shapes and compliant polyurethane balloon materials. To support these enhancements, we are increasing our staff of dedicated prototyping engineers, enabling us to focus on speed and on-time delivery with market-leading lead times of 10 days for balloon catheter prototypes.
Confluent demand is increasing due to greater utilization of ultra-high pressure balloon capabilities specifically designed for the transcatheter valve, venous interventions, and AV fistula therapy markets.
The Confluent Orange County location is geographically ideal to support the growing medical device community in Southern California. Confluent customers can interact locally and participate in the design, development, and prototyping of their development programs. Additionally, the Confluent Orange County improvements include expansion of the customer collaboration workspaces, which allows for improved customer interactions as quick-turn products are being designed and built.
Jill Schauer, VP Operations, notes, “Our Orange County site is excited to offer expanded Rapid Prototyping services through our key investments in dedicated personnel, infrastructure, and equipment. These enhancements allow our customers rapid development cycles, and the ability to utilize our ultra-high pressure balloon technologies for increased clinical applications.”
