CEO Dean Schauer Expands Role as Chairman of the Board
Confluent Welcomes Raul Carreras as New Chief Operations Officer
Confluent Medical Technologies (Confluent) announced today a series of leadership updates. Dean Schauer, who has served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer for more than a decade, has assumed the role of Chairman in addition to his existing responsibilities as CEO and President. Additionally, Raul Carreras has joined the company as its new Chief Operations Officer. In his new role, Mr. Carreras will oversee Confluent’s Global Operations Group, focused on enhancing and scaling the company’s network and capabilities to enable the continued delivery of innovative, high-quality products to customers.

Mr. Carreras brings to Confluent more than 20 years of strategy and operations experience ranging from multinational industrial and automotive manufacturing to world-class Medical Technology manufacturing. He was most recently the Senior Vice President of Terumo Cardiovascular, where he led the company’s Perfusion and Surgical Devices Division that includes manufacturing, R&D, business development, and Global Operations. Previously, Mr. Carreras led worldwide operations for Medline Industries, as well as a series of global leadership roles during his career at Michelin, spanning Europe, Canada, and the United States.

In March, Confluent welcomed Sandy Stojkovski and Brian Yoor, two seasoned executives with significant operational, financial, and industry expertise to its board.
TPG, a leading global alternative asset management firm, invested in Confluent in 2022.
